Community Mental Health programs require training for providers. The CMH organizations and Self-Determination program participants work together to develop a training curriculum which meets the requirements of state law and the needs of the program participants. The training curriculum and how often it must be updated vary by program participant and county.

Participants on the SED Waiver require all staff to have a clear TB test on file prior to working.

​

• Recipient Rights​ - within 90 days of hire

• CPR/First Aid

  • Must be in person from a MDHHS approved trainer (Example: American Red Cross)

• Individual Plan of Service Training​

  • Obtain from Employer/Guardian​

• Cultural Competency - within 60 days of hire

• Due Process, Grievance and Appeals - within 90 days of hire

• Limited English Proficiency - within 60 days of hire

• Medicaid Integrity - within 90 days of hire

• Person Centered Planning - within 30 days of hire

• Emergency Preparedness - within 30 days of hire
